About LabLand
Labland is a blog that i started to record projects that I have personally undertaken, along with interesting anecdotes from my experience labbing and working within the technology industry.
My Lab is comprised of two halves- one onsite, that function as my own mini “datacenter”, the other on Cloud, for publicly facing services (such as this site). The majority of my lab is setup onsite, with a room in my house being set up to host kit.
My lab’s network has a mix of Cisco, Brocade, Dell and HPE equipment. For compute, I have nodes from Dell and HPE as VMware hosts, and some intel Whitebox builds for other projects. Storage is provided by a mixture of NetApp and ZFS nodes, along with a Synology NAS for VMware and Bare-Metal backups.
My lab is mainly used to run internal services, along with projects for my professional learning and development. Every once in a while, a side project comes along, and these may end up on here too!
LabLand will hold posts on various projects, covering content such as:
- VMware products
- Cloud hosting
- Containers and Kubernetes
- Hardware systems and modifications
- Networking and Fiber Channel
