Finding a rack

I started off my homelab rather unusually, in the sense that I began by obtaining a rack, rather that any equiptment.
This hapend though me trawling the internet, where I stumbled across a rack by browsing a site in the UK called FreeCycle, that aims to rehome items. A friendly message regarding the listing the item later, I was set to go and pick up my rack from the company that was getting rid of it.
In hindsight, I probably should have first asked about the size, weight, and modualarity of it before agreeing to collect it.
I arrived to where I was supposed to be collecting it from, only to find the rack, still fully assembled with pannels. The rack was up a flight of stairs up, and with a bend. Luckily, it was only 24u, so I had a small ammount of hope in fitting it in the back of the car - many thanks to the friend of mine I roped in to joining me for that adventure.
An awkward shuffle down the tiny flight of stairs later, the rack was stood by the car. The real challenge was fitting it in the boot, which needed all the seats in the back down and the front passenger seat moved and tipped forward. Having done this, there was about 3cm more length needed. The next easiest target to gaining space was to remove castors from the base of the rack. These seemed to have never been used, having previous been on permanant feet, and came off easily. Phew.
With it all in the car we went to head home, only to find that the number of useable seats was now down to one - the Drivers. Damn. It was a long walk home for me.
